YAY for Toys

The other day Addison and I decided to play with all her stuffed animals she has! She was loving it and couldn't decide which one to grab and put in her mouth first!

Happy Days

Recently Addison has shown separation anxiety anytime someone tried to hold her but me (even her daddy). I must be honest that it makes me feel so loved by her but I know it breaks everyone elses hearts when she screams bloody murder the second they try to pick her up. The other day my mom was here and Addison finally let her play with her for about 30 minutes before getting fussy! YAY! And she loves her daddy so much and does not cry for him anymore! Anytime she hears his voice she just smiles ear to ear to get his attention!

4 Month Update

I have found that since having Addison is weird how time registers in your head. I think it is crazy that Addison is already 4 months old but then again I can't remember life without our beautiful baby. It's like time is flying by but then you take a step back and I am like, really it has only been 4 months? We had Addison's 4 month dr. apt today and she did wonderful as usual. She is 25.75 inches long (grown 7 inches since birth!) and that puts her in the 95th percentile for length. She was 13lbs 4ozs which puts her in the 50th percentile (better than less than 5th percentile like she was at 2 months). So basically we have a long, skinny, perfect peanut! We discussed with our doctor Addison's separation anxiety and the doctor did confirm that she was young to be doing that but she has seen babies as young as Addison do it before (normal age is 6-9 months old) and we also discussed Addison's refusal of the bottle and solid food (normal for exclusively breastfed babies). The bottom line is she told us we have a strong willed (bull-headed) "high maintenance" little girl on our hands! Good thing is she will be a leader and not a follower when older, bad thing is we get to struggle with her while she is a baby and can't communicate with us! We are starting baby sign language this month and we are very excited about that! All in all we are learning more and more with each passing day and loving her more and more with each passing second!

Packed with Power

Addison and I had a bit of a long night last night. Last Saturday Addison slept 9 straight hours, Sunday she slept 6.5 straight hours. Great I know! Starting a week ago today she decided she wants to wake up every 3 hours and she does it like clock work every night since! Lucky me. I have decided that I am going to try and not feed her at the first awakening to try and train her to not wake up then. Well last night it did not go so well. Needless to say I was very tired this morning. We were playing on the computer for a quick minute before we went to run some errands for daddy and I had just finished feeding her (did I mention she refuses a bottle now too..again lucky me!!!) when I simultaneously felt a gush of air, heard a loud rumble and felt a warm runny wet sensation all down my inner thigh and lap. Oh yes, Addison completely blew out her diaper all over me! What a wonderful morning surprise :)! It really is amazing how much power that little tushy packs! We still love her though and she gives us lots of good storied for future embarrassment.

What is that Smell?

Starting on Wednesday last week Charles and I noticed a faint smell in our house. Everyday it kept getting stronger and stronger. Friday we emptied all the garbage cans in the house and the diaper genie to see if it was the garbage. It wasn't. With the smell still in the house and Charles out of town at the hunting camp I went on a mission to find the stench. Charles swore it was a dirty diaper left somewhere in the house. Most moms can agree we don't just change our babies bottoms anywhere...like on the kitchen counter...we typically use the changing table that we paid good money for in the nursery for this kind of thing!!! So I gave him the benefit of the doubt and thought that maybe I left one in my diaper bag from changing Addison while out in public and just maybe Tootsie got a hold of it. I smelled it the strongest when at the kitchen sink so I poured bleach, vinegar and a lemon down the disposal. The smell was STILL there! I started thinking maybe I spilled milk on the counter and it is just sitting somewhere growing funk. But I keep a very clean house and figured that couldn't be it! I started smelling the bottles of soap near the sink and noticed Charles's protein shake container. Oh yes you guessed it! Four day old protein shake was the culprit. My mom was here when I found it and she was going to be the nice mother-in-law and clean it for Charles since I was not going to be the nice wife. I just assumed we would throw anything away that smelled that foul! Well when my mom unscrewed the top low and behold it was full of maggots! YES! Maggots!!! It was absolutely disgusting!!!!
Of course when I told Charles what the smell came from he totally blamed it on me for not washing out his cup quick enough!!!! Men.

We are blessed with a Beautiful Daughter!
