Tennessee Trip

All I have to say is the 22 hours round trip in the car was totally worth it and the pictures in the slide show are proof! We all had a wonderful time. I know it means so much to Charles to watch his daughter enjoy the same things/family he did growing up. If it was up to Charles we would pack up and move to TN and live off the land.

Addison just wanted to be outside ALL the time. Must be kid rule number 53...they have no concept of weather or temperature??? She was not phased at all by the snow or frigid temperatures. Once I was pretty much frozen solid I would force her back inside which was never a happy time.

Addison loved being with Mama Jo, Daddy John and Aunt Merc. She got a special treat when Ross came to stay the night. They were adorable together and enjoyed all the fun things kids do at their great grandparent's house...like sprinting down the long hallway while holding hands, sitting in the rocking recliner that spins, hugging out in the snow and of course rocking in their miniature wooden rocking chairs next to each other! Then another special treat was Baby Sarah's visit (it was exciting to see the parents, Charles's cousin Erin and Nick too) :) on Sunday. It gave us a sneak peak to what will come. Charles proved to be a great napper while holding Sarah and Addison was such a big helper with feeding!

I not only enjoyed all the great company but all the wonderful deserts too. Mama Jo baked an amazing chocolate cake (I think I had at least 2 pieces EVERY day we were there) a vanilla cream layer cake and banana pudding...YUM YUM YUM! I think I doubled my pregnancy weight gain in the 5 days we were there....yum yum yum!

We have a name.....

While in Tennessee these past few days we finally decided on a name...Addison helped pick it too! Baby Bond Girl 2 will now be known as:

ANSLEY LOTTIE BOND!

We just like Ansley (not as common as Avery) and Lottie was Charles's mother's name.

YAY! Glad that is marked off our to-do list!

Addison Update

Addison was suppose to have a CBC last Monday to determine if we were doing the double bone marrow biopsy last week. Since she was still getting over her ear infection and cold we waited until Thursday to do the CBC. Her counts were good minus her platelets that still refuse to rise.
WBC 5.9
Neutraphil 1.6
HGB 13.1
platelets 25

Since her WBC, neutraphils (fights infections) and red blood (hemoglobin) were in the normal range for her age the doctors agreed the biopsy was not necessary! The have cancelled it for an indefinite period of time. Their thought process is this: even if the marrow shows lack of platelet production it will not warrant any treatment so there is no point of doing it! Charles and I are thrilled. I was having a hard time dealing with cutting her open AGAIN and adding more scars to her pretty little back. Now we are praying for her platelets to increase enough to get that annoying port removed. The doctor assured us that platelets were the absolute last thing to respond and it could take her body months or years to get back up to near normal ranges. It took her body 5 months for the RBC and 7 months for the WBC so we just have to be patient and "watch and wait". Either way we are happy with the report and thank God for the improvements he has given Addison.

I had my glucose screening test today to test for gestational diabetes. We will have results by mid week but I am expecting a good report since I didn't have issues with Addison. This little love bug though is a kicker....she sure is active! We can't wait to meet her....we just need a name....please send suggestions! We love to hear them.

Happy new year

The month of December seemed to fly by for us. We had a wonderful Christmas at home and Addison was truly a joy to watch open gifts. She was slightly overwhelmed by all the gifts but you could see the magic of Christmas in her eye when she saw Santa brought her the one thing she asked him for: a soccer ball! She also loves her new pink kitchen he brought her. She did wake up Christmas morning with a runny nose and a cough (isn't that rule number 36 for children...wake up sick on any special holiday) She was a very helpful elf giving everyone their presents, my family was in town and Dan's family (lives 15 minutes away) came over Christmas morning. She thought it was great handing presents to people and saying "Merry Christmas". It was simply adorable! Addison got two baby dolls and she named both of them Baby Sister! So sweet.

My sister, mom and I went wedding dress shopping for Clare the Wednesday before Christmas. It was so neat to see her try on dresses. She looked stunning in every single one she tried on. I don't know how she will choose! The date has been set for 11-11-11!!!! Yay! So excited to get Dan as my brother-in-law.

Thursday before Christmas we went to check on baby girl2 and she was perfect! She was wide awake and we saw her stick her tongue out and swallow. She is looking more and more like a little person. It is so neat and we can't wait to meet her.

Reva and Aunt Char Char had planned to take Addison to her first real tea party that Wednesday. Addison LOVED everything about it! We all put on hats and sipped our tea (apple juice for Addy) from our porcelain tea cups! It was fabulous. Her cold seemed to be worsening so by Thursday (after two sleepless nights) I decided to take her to cousin Caleb's pediatrician who discovered she had a double ear infection! Poor baby. Seeing this was her first time to ever be on antibiotics she responded rather quickly and after 24 hours she was a new child!

Charles and I attended our friend's Andrew & Lynn's wedding New Year's Eve. Charles was a groomsmen and all our friend's from Jax went to the wedding so it was a super fun evening spending time with all of them. The wedding was BEAUTIFUL! The lack of sleep and still recovering from my original cold that started at the beginning of December caught up with me. By Monday I was sick as a dog. I went to my OB and she discovered I too had a double ear infection! She was rather excited seeing it was the first ear infection she had seen since med school...guess you don't check many ears when you're an OB. I on the other hand am just sick of feeling ill and happy to be on antibiotics to get this cleared up once and for all!

OK this is LOOOONNNGGGG enough! I am sure Charles will complain...posting pictures of our fun month next! Happy Happy Happy New Year!
