No News is Good News!

I spoke to the Nemours around 3 on Friday and at that time the blood culture had not grown any bacteria. We never received a call so when the clock struck 7pm we celebrated the no news as good news!

Daddy flew back in LATE Friday night and when I went into Addison's room Saturday morning to get her I was all of a sudden chop liver as she said "Where's my daddy?" I had told her when I put her to bed that daddy would be here in the morning. Our little girl NEVER forgets ANYTHING!

We had a great weekend of hanging out at Grammie & Pa's, playing with Caleb (those two are ADORABLE together) and just spending quality time together. We went to the Beach today (3rd day in a row) and I will post pictures soon! If there is one thing Addy is loving about being in Jacksonville it is all the fresh air she is getting by playing in the yard, the park at the front of the neighborhood and of course the BEACH!

We have an apt with Nemours on March 16th. We will be discussing removal of the port to take place ASAP. We will keep you posted with that update...until then we are just enjoying every minute with our bundle of love before we have two bundles of love!!!

Visit to the ER

So much has happened since my last blog post. Charles accepted a new job with Healthpoint! We are very very excited about the new opportunity. We are staying with Adam & Charlotte in Jacksonville temporarily while we look for a new house to buy! Our house in Jax Beach is rented out until next summer. Very exciting but also a bit stressful with Ansley due to arrive in 7 weeks. Charles is in New Mexico all of this week and will be traveling the next 5 weeks for his new job. Pray that Ansley stays cookin until he gets home!

Last time Charles got on a plane, Addison was temporarily diagnosed with Leukemia....this time Charles gets on a plane Addison spikes her first fever EVER of 101.2. Because she has the port we have to take her to the Dr immediately due to the risk of the fever representing a bacterial infection in her port (blood infection). So Reva met me at the "Children's" hospital (which apparently shares the ER with adults). Addison got anxiety the second we walked in there knowing something was going to happen to her. She did not want to sit on the bed or have her vitals taken...pretty much she did NOT want to be touched. Every time someone walked in the room she would shove her finger in their face begging "How bout the finger?...Just my finger?...How bout this finger?" She is OK with blood draw from her finger but NOT her port and she knew that is what they were going to do. It broke my heart. I hate for her to go thru this crap, she doesn't deserve it. They drew blood from her port for a culture sample to see if it grows bacteria. Bacteria can grow over 3 days so we will not know for sure if it is a blood infection until Friday night around 7pm. Until then I am on pins and needles checking Addison's temp every few minutes and counting down the time to Friday evening (for two reasons: in the clear for bacteria and Charles comes home!)

I will keep you posted on Addison's condition. When this is over I think Charles and I have agreed we are getting that port taken out. It has been nothing but a headache and traumatic for Addison.

Here CBC at hospital was:
WBC 8.75 (Has been in high 5s low 6s)
HGB 10.6 (due to her only drinking liquids ALL day yesterday)
Platelets 33
ANC 5500 (usually around 1500...this represents some type of infection but at least her body is working!)

I go to my new OBGYN tomorrow to check on Ansley and schedule our C-Section. Oh and needless to say Charles is not allowed on another plane! :)
