We are adjusting well and cannot believe Ansley will be TWO weeks old this Friday. Ansley has been an absolute joy and seems to be a very happy baby. She only fusses when she is hungry or passing gas...do you blame her?! :) Ansley is quite the eater! She seems to be a great sleeper too. Her last feeding for the night is between 8 and 9 and then she sleeps until about 12:30. Then it is back to every 2-3 hours of eating but at least we get one good stretch of sleep. Her demeanor is much different then Addison's as a newborn. It so neat as a parent to see how different two children can be even at this early age.

When she went to the pediatrician on Tuesday after we left the hospital Monday & she had gained over 3 ounces in 24 hours! I have no doubt she is already back to her birth weight or more by now. Her next pediatrician apt is a week from today. Addy has a CBC on Tuesday.

The transition from 1 to 2 is much easier than 0 to 1. Addison still adores Ansley so hopefully that sticks too! Charles and I are so blessed to have such a beautiful family. We are so in love with our girls!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter.

Ansley Lottie

Charles & I left our house at 5:15 am and Ansley arrived via C-section at 7:58am Friday morning! Ansley weighed 7lbs 6ounces and is 19 inches long. The Dr had a hard time getting her out, she was NOT ready to leave her cozy environment. She has lots of dark brown (almost black) hair & is sweet as pie. I forgot how magical it is to hold a newborn. She had ingested too much amniotic fluid so was not too interested in nursing since she had a bad tummy ache. All is well now and she is eating and pooping well! Addison absolutely adores her new baby sister Ans-wee and mommy & daddy are so proud and full of love for their two girls. Can't wait to get home and start enjoying our new family of four. Enjoy pics and we hope to go home Monday morning.

Anxiously Awaiting Ansley

In less than 24 hours we will be holding our new baby girl! We were scheduled to deliver today but there was an emergency so we were bumped to tomorrow. I am sure Ansley wont mind an extra day in her cozy warm womb and it gives us another day to mentally prepare! I hope you like pics of her nursery. I still have not found the perfect picture frames to hang above her crib but I know I will soon! She also needs a lamp but cut me some slack...trying to furnish a whole house is a wee bit stressful!!! We will update pics of Miss Ansley and Addison as soon as we can! Love to you all!

Bye Bye Magic Button

Most of you know Addison had her port, "magic button", removed yesterday at Nemours here in Jacksonville. The whole fever/ER visit a few weeks ago really bothered Charles, Addison and I and we decided as a family it was time to have that thing removed. Addison was such a trooper seeing she couldn't eat or drink anything all day. She was happy to tell anyone and everyone that listened that she was having her "magic button" removed and then she would be "all better"! Daddy got to walk her back to the O.R. and hold her until she was put under so there was no separation anxiety (well I had plenty). The procedure took about an hour and the surgeon gave the port to Charles in a little jar. She had a CBC Monday to see if her platelets would be high enough to go through surgery and we thought she only had to be at 50,000 but she actually had to be at 75,000. Her platelets on Monday were at 60,000!!! Not high enough to avoid the platelet transfusion but still the best they have been in over 9 months! Everything was in normal range except her platelets so God is blessing us by healing our sweet baby girl. She only received half a unit of platelets, when she was getting transfused weekly back in June she would receive anywhere from 5-8 full units of platelets to give you an idea of how little she received. We cannot even begin to describe how excited we are to have that portion of Addison's and our lives closed and begin the new adventures with Ansley and healthy Addison. Her platelets are still low but the fact that her little body is working hard to correct itself is fabulous! Ansley seems to be growing well as I am pretty much out of room and she is VERY active. I am only a centimeter dilated (by this time with Addison I was 4 centimeters). We are keeping our fingers crossed that she stays cookin till next Thursday April 14th. I am working hard to get the new house ready before Miss Ansley comes but it is hard when I have to take breaks every hour or so to prop my feet up or go to the bathroom :). The boxes seem to be never ending. Setting up a nursery is hard enough, try adding an entire house to that and you have a recipe for sore swollen feet and a tired mama! Will post pics soon of the house once our living room is not stacked full of boxes! Thank you everyone for your prayers for Addison. We could not go through this without you or them!
